How to Style a White Leather Skirt in the Fall
How to Style a White Leather Skirt in the Fall.
When I was moving last month, I took notice of a few things. First, I have way too many clothes that I do not wear. I do not know how I’ve managed to collect this many clothes over the years. It felt incredibly good to donate numerous bags of clothes and I still have more bags to give away. It was the ultimate purge and I highly recommend doing it at least once or twice a year.
While I was clearing out my closet, swapping out my summer clothes with my fall/winter wardrobe, I noticed that I do not own many basic pieces. Of course, I have my classics such as my favorite leather jacket, my go-to jeans, my black cami and my very favorite lightweight draped trench coat but I couldn’t believe that I didn’t own a leather mini skirt or even a little black dress.
If you’ve been following along with my posts, you’ll know that recently all that has changed. One trip to Nordstrom and I found the leather mini skirt that I have been searching for. Even better, it was in white. In the same trip, I also found a fun twist on a little black dress, which you can learn about in my previous post here.
Today, I’m sharing how to style a white leather skirt in the fall. A leather skirt, no matter the color, is an essential piece in your wardrobe. I have said it numerous times, but it doesn’t hurt to say it again, I LOVE wearing white in the fall and winter.
If you’re wondering how to style a white leather skirt in the fall, it comes down to a few simple tricks. Wearing black booties will make a crisp white skirt turn into a classic winter white piece. Layering a lightweight trench coat on top will remind everyone what season we are in.
You can never go wrong with a classic black and white outfit. Many times you’ll see this outfit reversed: a black leather skirt with a white cami. The white leather mini skirt is a fun twist on the classic B&W outfit. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with it so don’t feel like you are breaking any rules by wearing a white skirt.
Let me ask you a quick question, “do you own a lightweight trench coat?” While I was putting this outfit together, I wanted to wear my leather jacket with this look. In my head, it was going to be the perfect pairing. Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong. The leather jacket looked too heavy with the look. In short, it was way too much leather and fabric. Then, I remembered that I had my lightweight trench coat in my closet. I have relied on this coat so many times, I’ve lost count. Whether I was attending weddings as a guest and I needed an extra layer over my dress or if I simply wanted to turn the volume up on a casual look, time and time again, I’ve chosen this coat. It has worked every single time.
I highly recommend a lightweight trench coat for anyone looking to elevate their style and break out of their comfort zone. Everyone loves their jean or leather jacket. The trench coat will change everything.
